Well I haven't writting much since the last time and decided to turn off allowing people to post because I felt that some were using it to post some stupid things.
I lost my father last November and haven't been the same since...
I was inspired by a dear friend to beging posting again and so here it is.
Life is odd how things turn out.
All I can say at this time is that I am extremely humbled by life lessons.
I sometimes wish I could speak to my dad - but in the end it is really a lonely journey as they say!

Fatih in Humanity
I was wandering through the town of Montecito, CA near Santa Barbara, CA. I was haning out with a friend of mine and he asked me to pick 3 cheeses from this cheese and wine place. So I said sure. I walked to the store and walked in... there was a woman preparing sandwhiches... I had noticed that there was no credit card machines - at that time the owner of the store was walking about behind the cash as I asked the woman if they accepted credit cards or debit cards... and he said sorry we don't ...
I turend to walk out the door and at that moment the owner said come back here and get what you need - I don't want to see anyone go hungry. Wow I said to myself ... he is willing to let me get something without paying for it. "You can pay me later he said". I told him I am not from around here ... Not a problem "pay me whenever!"... well that is a rare thing... he asked me what kind of cheese he needed... I asked him for a slice of fontina. He weighed it and then was getting ready to charge me for my slab... when I said I need 2 more slabs - he thought about it for a moment and then just said sure, what else.
He ringed me up... and it came to $ 18.80. I left to go and see my friend - told him what happened and said I want to borry $ 20 dollars ... I went back to pay my debt early...
I walk into the shop and he looks at me and say your back already ... yes, I said and would like to pay my bill... so I had him my 20 he gives me change and as I am about to walk out the door he manages still be be generous with me and says - why don't you take this other slice as well ... as I probably will not be able to sell such a small piece ... generous and giving this person was ... the lesson to me was all about giving ... it will always come back to you in ways you never expect it... and most importantly - give without expecting anything in return .. I had an amazing day after that...
wow... imagine what our world would be like...

The rose garden, the ducks and life
Well this year I managed to go and help out at our local rose garden... and I must say I was happy to participate in a community type event... and now everytime I go for walks there it seems like it has been touched by some sort of magic...
But really what I tihnk we did was to help clean up the place for the 2 ducks who live there... last year I also noticed them... wow they just seem to come back in the spring... they seem so at peace in the rose garden... They are what make my visits there all that much more ...
Then again aren't we all looking for that much more in all that we experience in life ... a friend of mine asked me today how I felt and rather than say - fine... I said exactly how I felt ... I was nice to be present and know how I was feelling and move from there ... life is too short!
I am feeling very grateful for all that has happened in my life thus far - even if it has been sometimes painful to learn some of the lessons I have had to learn ... it has nonetheless been amazing to see where I am with my life... And what lies ahead...
I just felt like posting tonight ... I am always amazed at when you put yourself out there - like this - someone comes along and maybe a word or two will touch them... and in a sense I have smiled at them as strangers passing by.
Thanks for reading - take time to smell the roses - life is so very short.

A smiling face
Yesterday I stopped off at an Indian restaurant and ordered some vegetable korma... yummm very tasty ... I was so hungry that I asked the lady if she could bring me some extra sauce ... she said yes but with a befuddled look in her eye... the kind of look you get when you are foreigner in another country ordering food that you don't know much about.
So she brings my a heaping dish of vegetable Korma ... rice and naan bread... Lovely I think.... this is lots of food...
Two minutes later she shows up with another dish full of yummy creamy korma sauce and vegetable goodies floating in it... I look at her confused ... I said I only ordered one dish ... she looks at me equally confused and says to me ... this is the extra sauce that you ordered ... hummmm™ I say ... alright.
But of course my eyes were bigger than my appetite... so I asked for a to go container... paid the bill and headed home...
As I get off the highway I notice a homeless person with a sign and a very sad look on his face... I think to myself - Here is a moment in life when you can think and do something ... not that big of a thing to do ... but still it is the act of acting spontaneously that makes all the difference in life... So I reached into the back seat grabbed the bag with the goods and asked him if he was hungry and he nodded affirmatively ... gave him the food and off I went...
Today I got off that same highway and as I drove past him he had the most amazing smile... it made my day... all because someone was just really generous ... and someone asked for something more...
Things like this never cease to amaze me.
As the saying goes ... never postpone joy...
Ciao everyone.
